Jared Tuttle and I were put in touch by a mutual friend and we hit it off right away. His designs really blew me away and I was so excited to take on the challenge of bringing to life this excellent octopus logo for The Brass Hat, a SCUBA shop-themed speakeasy by Bode Gray’s in Waconia, MN. One of the best parts was working with the client to brainstorm how their audience would encounter this animation, and leaning into their vision. I’m really happy with what we ended up with.

I took a hand-drawn approach to the tentacles, but a particle based approach to the bubbles. I’m always looking for ways to blend techniques, and the results here were very gratifying.
