TRYLON CINEMA
Pre-show ‘snipes’ and movie posters for Trylon Cinema
I absolutely love making work for movie theaters. Snipes play just when the theater audience is opening themselves up to the film, preparing to suspend their disbelief. Each of the Digital Presentation pieces represent a different common aspect ratio (Flat, Scope and Academy). The 35mm Presentation piece is cut together from a 1950s era educational film about how a film projector works. I also inserted a digital ‘cigarette burn’ in the top right corner which projectionists can use as a cue to run the projector. Also included are a re-open PSA informing the audience about COVID-19 precautions, a snipe highlighting the Trylon’s programs, and four movie posters that I illustrated for various series.
